ANHS Fine and Practical Arts Department

Sent: Monday, December 14th 2009
Attention ANHS Parents,

As your students make their schedule choices for next spring semester,
we want you to be aware of the various elective choices that are
available to your kids. The ANHS Fine and Practical Arts Department has
many courses to choose from. See below for more info.

Elective: ANHS Choral Music Program

Instructor: Mr. Jason Harney

The ANHS Choral Music has four classes to choose from:

*        A Capella Choir

*        Mixed Chorus

*        Concert Choir

*        Madrigals

A Capella Choir is an open enrollment class for boys only. No audition
is required. Students learn basic music skills, perform three concerts,
and develop both team skills and individual excellence.

Mixed Chorus is an open enrollment class for girls only. No audition is
required. Students learn basic music skills, perform three concerts,
and develop both team skills and individual excellence.

Your students are strongly encouraged to join one of these two choirs
next spring or next fall. Studies show that students involved in high
school music tend to have higher grades, higher graduation rates, higher
college success rates, and are sure to have a great time!

* For more musically experienced female students, they can
audition for the Advanced Women's 'Concert Choir'. Have them stop by
the choir for more information, it is room #1004. Auditions can still
be held in January.

* Auditions are held for our most advanced choir, Madrigals, in
May of 2010.

news crew by producing a weekly news show called "The Morning Howl"
which airs on campus at Aliso Niguel High School and is also posted
online each week at:

Students in TV/Broadcast Journalism have the chance to learn all of the
roles involved in producing a weekly news television show by rotating
through positions throughout the semester."

   The Consumer Auto class is the beginning level class that feeds the
Auto program here at Aliso Niguel. The class is aimed at equipping the

Students are given time in class to do all assignments. A brief summary
